2008-2015 ( Our Humble Beginnings )
Urban Purple, a fashion studio that emerged during the 2008 recession when income opportunities were scarce, is built on a foundation of unwavering dedication to quality. Despite numerous challenges, our passion for creativity has driven us to offer a comprehensive range of services, including apparel design, manufacturing, and promotion. We are proud to serve a global clientele, and our journey is a testament to how innovation can thrive in the face of scarcity. APRIL 2011 ( Start of Garment Production)
As we sharpened our expertise in concept development, apparel design, and tech pack creation, our clients saw our potential and entrusted us with their ideas, leading us to the next phase of garment production. The initial funding from our clients was a crucial step in our journey, enabling us to establish our first garment production unit. Their generous support from abroad was a key factor in our success. We started small, with only three machines and a team of 6 people, but today, we have grown into a team of over 50, a clear sign of our company's growth and promising future.
APRIL 2013 ( Transition to Full Service )
We have come a long way at Urban Purple since our humble beginnings. As we gained more expertise in apparel design and tech pack development, our clients' demands grew beyond just these services. They wanted us to care for their entire fashion business, from designing clothes to delivering them to customers. So, we expanded our services to include everything from branding to e-commerce and marketplace development.
We listened to our client's needs and upgraded our production unit to include a knits division alongside our woven garments. We have clients from all over the world, and we are committed to providing them with a seamless and comprehensive service that brings their vision to life in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible. Our goal is to be a one-stop shop for all your fashion business needs.
JULY 2022 ( Phase Two Expansion )
At Urban Purple, we always strive to improve and expand our services to meet the needs of our growing client base. As our demand grows, we have recently upgraded our factory to accommodate more machinery and workforce. In addition, we are excited to announce that we will soon be building our second production unit, which is expected to be completed early next year. This expansion will allow us to serve our clients even more efficiently. However, our commitment to high-quality production and customer satisfaction remains unwavering. We are excited about this new chapter in our journey and look forward to continuing to provide the best possible service to our clients.
Our Team
As a technical design fashion studio and clothing manufacturing unit, we aim to provide outstanding, fashionable clothing designs and nurture an inventory of unique fashion products. We at Fashion Studio Urban Purple (FSUP) firmly believe in providing the guiding light for apparel brands and private clothing labels to create products with fundamentally better techniques. This approach has been our cornerstone of success and has enabled us to bring over 200 private labels to life.
We are a one-stop destination for designers, offering services from Concept to Consumer. Our designs are unique and inspirational, delivering a collection line that can propel any brand to success.
Our services extend to providing management services for new and existing businesses. FSUP was created with the committed objective of helping the fashion industry source, plan, and manufacture better. We constantly strive to advance standards in apparel design and manufacturing through improved efficiency and reduced costs. FSUP is one of the most prominent companies, providing a sophisticated and collaborative platform for apparel brands to succeed.
Paromita Das -Fashion Designer and MD - Urban Purple
Paromita's career as a fashion designer has been defined by her unwavering commitment to quality in various industries and cooperative societies. She has experience working with high industry officials and people from grassroots levels, always ensuring the highest standards are met. Her vast experience spans multiple apparel design, development, and production segments for both small-scale and large-scale production environments. Paromita's commitment to quality is further evidenced by her work in the organic handmade apparel segment with various cooperative societies. With over 14 years of experience in various apparel industry environments as a creative and technical designer, she now leads the design department of Urban Purple. Her commitment to quality has been the backbone for many apparel brand launches and the development of fashion brands over more than 16 years.
Sashikant Khuntia - Head Marketing and Owner - ScriptoGraphics
Sashikant is a seasoned marketing and public relations professional focusing on the apparel industry. With over 20 years of experience in industry associations, he has a proven track record in driving successful campaigns and building strong relationships. As a founding member of Urban Purple and ScriptoGraphics, Sashikant has actively contributed to the IT and apparel sectors. His diverse background, encompassing marketing, sales, information technology, and public relations, has equipped him with a unique perspective on the industry. Before his apparel production and IT career, Sashikant spent seven years in management consulting, human resources, and project management at URS Career Executive Search & Services. During this time, he served significant IT clients, including Dell Perot Systems, XChanging, Fujitsu, and Hexaware Technology.
Apart from the Management team, we have specialized fashion tech pack designers, product developers, and vendors, such as print units, embroidery units, washing units, and processing units. Most of the units we work with are the best in India in terms of quality, craftsmanship, and timeline. Also, many of the units are ISO and CMM certified.
